Empty Vessel 04:34
Crashing down From the clouds I don't know where I am Too long I have drank from the river I remember green lights Will they be there Her caress Sweet ash Take me away You Can leave me here To die But it doesn't mean I'll commit To the grave These ghosts Haunt me Mock me Kill me No map can guide me back to you Lover, do you remember me? You Can leave me here To die But it doesn't mean I'll commit To the grave And what of this heart? I will not be left here to die I will not drown in the river I will walk through this valley The leaves will know my story These woods will see my growth I will find the cabin I will not be left here to die I will not drown in the river

Sufferer 06:40
There's no god listening here Is this my place? To die here alone? Will this be enough for her? But what of the ghosts? And what of the leaves? Will I find the cabin? Or is death my only chance at peace? Stars guide me Into the solace from these leaves Guide me back to the cabin Back to the peace I seek Stars guide me Into the solace from these leaves So I walk further Into this endless forest I will see this journey To Its end Stars guide me Into the solace from these leaves Guide me back to the cabin Back to the peace I seek Stars guide me Into the solace from these leaves Show me The long road at the end of suffering Sufferer, Don't go This forest is your home No one is waiting back there for you Sufferer, Don't go There's no green lights there No one is waiting for you Will they be there When it's all over? Sufferer, Don't go This forest is your home No one is waiting back there for you Sufferer, Don't go There's no green lights there No one is waiting for you

Derelict ships wait for me In southern skies Rats on my back I see the gods as they are This unresting body Dreams of the ocean A grand return home A place to rest these bones I long to see the ocean To taste that humid air Bless all those who've left me here on my own I carve my destiny in the sand Now as I reach out I feel the door open I hear a voice beckon to me from beyond This heart belongs to this unresting body Now as I reach out I feel the door open I hear a voice beckon to me from beyond Come back my dear, my heart, my love I feel a warmth embrace me As I go further into the light Bless all those who've left me here on my own I carve my destiny in the sand Now as I reach out I feel the door open I hear a voice beckon to me from beyond This heart belongs to this unresting body Now as I reach out I feel the door open I hear a voice beckon to me from beyond Come back my dear, my heart, my love I don't believe this will be the end of me I must find what's beyond that door Now I see a light beyond the trees And I see all I can be Now as I reach out I feel the door open I hear a voice beckon to me from beyond This heart belongs to this unresting body Now as I reach out I feel the door open I hear a voice beckon to me from beyond Come back my dear, my heart, my love

Now I see it all As these beasts Kill me in my sleep A great maw in the sky Is opening up My feet lift from the ground As I ascend to the sky I breathe in reprieve As this journey is over Breathe slowly We'll come at night for you Promises unkept are the bane of this life Go away You'll drink from the river again Stained in blood You wait for the answers To questions you don't ask So wait here in silence Step into this world with cautious feet You know now what you must do For this burden to lift from your back Again I see a man where there was a boy Stained in blood You wait for the answers To questions you don't ask So wait here in silence Now a portal waits in front of you Go face your future Stained in blood You wait for the answers To questions you don't ask I hear a voice whisper one more time This is the Grand Myth Stained in blood You wait for the answers To questions you don't ask Go find yourself in that bright world

about

What started as one song became a 10 month journey to see if I could write a near-full-length release all on my own. I am so incredibly proud of these songs, and the parts of myself I left behind in these recordings.

Empty Vessel was the first song written, and while initially about something different, it ended up starting off the semi-concept that the album follows.

(Lots of thank you's below. You've been warned.)

I want to give a very big thank you to everyone who inspired this album, and supported my insanity as I worked to get all of these ideas out of my head and into the real world.

Specifically I want to thank Jonas Vece for mixing the album, and making sure every little note I gave him was accounted for and taken care of. The man is a tank and if you need someone mixing your music, please make sure he's one of your choices.

Eddie Schillo, who took my awful concept drawings and turned them into the amazing artwork for the album, and also because now I have someone to discuss the lyrics of Protest the Hero's "Fortress" with.

Thanks to Christopher Horst for the amazing look on the logo, he never disappoints and I'm proud to be able to work with such a professional.

Kevin, Danny and Logan for keeping me so level headed and offering an honest ear to my compositions as we drove around together listening to the songs in their infancy, and offering an outsiders perspective on my music. And for never complaining that I keep recording late and showing you guys my music when you aren't expecting it.

My amazing family, who have always propped me up and made sure I could have the time to make this record happen. Mom and sis, for keeping me focused on the "real world", but especially my father, who has been my biggest fan since the day I picked up a guitar, and continues to support me day in and day out.

Finally, Jimmy and Phil. You keep supporting me every day and believe in me so much more than I believe in myself, even if one of you isn't around anymore to see it happen in person.
